The sun has been setting a little sooner and berries are plumping on the branches. Summer is shining, but a few signs of fall are slipping in here and there. They remind us to satisfy our summer cravings, with a bucket of berries or a long hike, before the season leaves.

The Resort’s Aerial Tram is a favorite summer activity. The Dine & Ride Tickets include a credit you can use at the Bore Tide Deli & Bar for lunch with a view. It is a great way to spend a summer afternoon, and you can also explore and go berry picking while you are up there. Keep an eye out for wildlife on the way up.

Glacier Bowl Express is open now through the end of the biking season. Come out and take on the bike park this weekend. There are several new things to peak your interest. Check out the Bear Cub Quad ‘Give It A Try Program’ if you’re a newbie or stop by for the Friday special and get half price bike rental for a half-day (3-6 p.m.) when you buy a bike lift ticket.

Speaking of lift tickets, have you gotten your season pass yet? Sept. 3 is the summer sale deadline, and it is coming up fast. And if you haven’t heard, all adults who purchase before the deadline will have the chance to win a piece of Alyeska history-one of the last remaining chairs from Chair 1.

Free summer shows continue at the Sitz. Alec Lytle & Them Rounders will be playing August 11 at 10:00 p.m. Lytle has played his nuanced acoustic music in clubs and bars from Los Angeles to San Francisco, in cafes in Thailand, public squares in Brazil and on any field or mountaintop where he can tell his stories to a few empathetic listeners or simply the wide open spaces. We are looking forward to this show.

Summer Trivia at the Sitz is still going strong on Friday nights at 7 p.m. It really is a blast. Come with your carefully selected and groomed team and reach for the top. (The same team wins every week! Not naming names, but they need to be taken down just one little, baby peg.) Best of luck to everyone and up next, Blueberry Festival.
