Whittier’s New Bike Fix-it Station

Whittier’s New Bike Fix-it Station

CRW Engineering donated and installed the new bike fix-it station in Begich Tower International’s loading dock and partnered with P&R, which will maintain the station and keep an eye on it. As a small community, Whittier is conducive to cycling, which promotes healthy lifestyles.
There is no bicycle store in the community, and bikes eventually need adjustments and minor repairs. When bikes break down, sometimes people leave them where stopped working, even though a simple fix is all that is needed. P&R also holds periodic clinics to teach residents of all ages how to make easy repairs and maintain bikes, and the fix-it station will encourage more interest.
