Rick Dennis

Contributing Photographer

Rick has been a student of photography since the 1970’s when he would take photos of his friends as they surfed in Southern California. He later took photography classes and learned darkroom processes. He documented many adventures and journeys throughout Southern California, including Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Mount Whitney, Lake Tahoe and the Mojave Desert. In the 90’s, Rick became a licensed helicopter pilot and started an aerial photography business that catered to high-end real estate agents in the Los Angeles South Bay area.

Life changes brought Rick to Alaska in 1994. Since then he has been photographing the abundant beauty of the Great Land. Rick enjoys the outdoors and landscape photography. He is also an avid UAV pilot and enjoys building, and flying freestyle quadcopters that carry HD cameras and produce amazing, and dramatic photos and videos of Southcentral Alaska.

Rick lives in Bird Creek and has found that Turnagain Arm offers some of the most beautiful scenery and landscapes to be found anywhere. You can often find him walking his dog Bosey on the bike paths and trails of Bird Valley.
