Alyeska Snow Classic Finds Local Winners
The Alyeska Snow Classic Measuring Stick was read April 16, 2017 with a snow depth of 3.63 feet (three feet, six tenths, three hundredths). FVCS’ Alyeska Snow Classic committee sorted through hundreds of submitted tickets to determine a winner. Tickets were purchased predominantly from FVCS board members as well as some local businesses. Chair 5 sold the most tickets followed by Herbal Cache and the Merc. Tickets sold for $2.50 each and guesses were made between March 1 – 31. These tickets were submitted into Alyeska Snow Classic containers in Girdwood and Anchorage by March 31.
While there were no exact guesses, the Snow Classic committee found a surprising four winners; each one hundredth of a foot from exact. Janice Crocker, Esa Woodland, Cristina Bazonis, and Kathy Lowe have been notified and will split the winner’s pot: $1,369.12 will be divvied four ways to give $342.28 to each winner. FVCS staff and board members would like to thank all those who participated and wish everyone good guessing in 2018.
