With the three-week-long closure for a top-to-bottom tune up, be sure to purchase and pick-up your season pass at the tram ticket office of The Hotel Alyeska this weekend so you don’t have to wait in line on opening day. Alyeska Resort will temporarily be closing its doors from November 1st to November 23rd for maintenance projects and fine-tuning in preparation for the winter season.

Alyeska Resort is currently selling 2016-17 season passes at the early season rate, which includes up to $100 of Powder Cache. When purchasing your pass prior to October 31st, this Powder Cache essentially turns your season pass into a debit card in which you can use at any one of Alyeska’s outlets. From dining outlets to gift shops, to hotel stays or the Mountain Learning Center, your powder Cache is there to use as you please throughout the winter season. Beat the lines on opening day and get your pass today!

Don’t forget Season Passholders, you can add on a Sitzmark Music Pass for just $100. This Music Pass gives you entry into every single Sitzmark concert all winter season long; including Halloween’s Lez Zeppelin!

Speaking of the Sitzmark, you have got to head to the website to check out the music line up for the 2016-2017 ski season. With only a couple weekends left to fill, the schedule is packed full with all different genres of music which includes a few returning favorite national acts, quite a few new acts, and as always, many of your local favorites.

Join us opening weekend as JUNOsmile hits the stage; a dynamic duo not to be missed. JUNOsmile is the collaboration of veteran musicians Joseph and Jessy Martens, who combined have over 40 years’ experience performing, writing and recording music. In addition to originals, these two take a unique interpretation on a vast range of new classics and old favorites, ranging from rock and folk, to country and bluegrass.

Ever watch the show Archer on Netflix? You know when Cheryl randomly becomes a country star “Cherlene” but surprisingly has an amazing voice? That beautiful voice would be none other than Jessy Martens of JUNOsmile! Doors open at 9 p.m. with FREE entry, so be sure to come celebrate opening weekend at the Sitz on November 25th and 26th.

For those of you who missed out on Motor City Soul during the Alyeska Bike Fest on Labor Day weekend, you truly missed one of Anchorage’s most lively bands to hit the Sitz stage. With a curious crowd waiting to see what these guys were all about, within 10 minutes were all dancing the night away to the Motown Soul that is Motor City Soul.

This 6-piece, funky soul band features bandleader Ira Sellers on guitar and vocals, Lee Reddick (vocals), Brenton Garrett (bass), Brandon Cockburn (drums), Bill Hauser (saxophone), and features International Recording Artist and 2015 Alaska Hip Hop & R&B Awards Female Vocalist of the Year, Dawn McClain. Motor City Soul will be hitting the stage both December 2nd and 3rd as another FREE show at the Sitz! Friday night they will hit the stage at 10 p.m. and Saturday night they will follow the 8th Annual Patrol Auction, a rowdy fundraiser at the Sitzmark to benefit the Resort’s Avalanche Canine Program, which currently supports three dogs – Fundy, Yuki and Kilo. Ten (un)willing patrollers from Alyeska’s Ski Patrol will be featured and each live auction winner will win an early morning ski with their patroller of choice.

There’s all kinds of fun coming up at the Sitzmark this season; between live music every weekend, Tuesday Trivia, Wednesday Snow Film Series, Paint Nites, Game Nights, and so much more! Visit TheSitzmark.com for all events and additional information.
