Alyeska Resort

Birthdays are the best. This year we celebrate a big one here at Alyeska. We’ve been the premier ski-in and out resort in Southcentral Alaska for 25 years. This Aug. 24, Girdwood Alliance will be celebrating our quarter-of-a-century with a party at the top of the aerial tram. We will be hosting live music, including full bands at the top of the tram.

Come listen to local musicians alongside friends and family. In thanks to all that Girdwood has provided us, we will be donating half of all tram ticket sales this day to the Girdwood Alliance. Come help ring in the 25th Anniversary of Hotel and Tram operations. Music includes a variety of artists including Past Our Prime, and The Jangle Bees.

To celebrate blueberry season and all it provides, Alyeska Resort is hosting the 12th Annual Blueberry Festival August 17-18 in the hotel courtyard. This family-friendly event features free live music from 11 a.m.–7 p.m., headlining music by Mario Carboni, Ava Earl, over 50 craft vendors and food vendors, and everyone’s favorite; the beer and wine garden. Both days at Blueberry Festival will feature the very popular pie-eating contest for both kids and adults in front of the stage. Sunday morning, bring your running shoes for the Blueberry Stomp 5k run. The course takes runners through the wooded Nordic ski trail with a start/finish line gate in the new parking lot just before the Nordic trail starts. The event is free to run and is always a good time.

Join the late-night crowd for a free after-party on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 9 p.m. hosted at the Sitzmark Bar & Grill with headlining band Drunken Hearts. From their humble inception as an acoustic trio, The Drunken Hearts have evolved into an eclectic five-piece that is captivating audiences across the country. In those few years, the Colorado-based group has managed to make a name for itself in a state that is known for cultivating world-class music.

The band fearlessly bottles a tempestuous, yet honest brand of Americana music — infusing spirited vocals with electric and acoustic instruments, and crafting heartfelt songs that are resonating with crowds everywhere. Music Saturday night is free and open to those 21 and over.
