Alyeska at a Glance
By Stephanie Drescher
Alyeska Resort is back! After a brief closure, Hotel Alyeska opened its arms to the success of a sold out Thanksgiving Buffet with all the trimmings. If you didn’t get a reservation or your fill of culinary expertise at the resort over Thanksgiving, make sure you stop by The Pond Steakhouse. The steakhouse’s final day is on Fri., Nov. 30. Remember kids eat free per paying adult.
If you need a break from the holiday season, a massage might just be what you need. The Spa at Alyeska is currently offering the Rosemary Citron Sensation that incorporates a blend of rosemary and mineral-rich sea salts, plus circulation-stimulating citron oils and detoxifying herbal extracts followed by purifying massage with a Sicilian Bergamot moisturizer.
The Girdwood Chill, is also available with a combination of CBD massage oils that work as a natural pain reliever, anti-inflammatory and stress reducer. This massage comes with a take-home sample of the CBD compound used in the treatment.
Now is also a great time to start talking about the winter concerts at the Sitzmark Bar & Grill. Anchorage-based band Nothing But Trouble will be performing opening weekend, Dec. 7-8, with free admission (21 and older). Concerts start at 10 p.m.
The following weekend everyone should come rock with Alaska’s foremost pop band, featuring Conway Seavey. This young band is from Anchorage and is inspired by Maroon 5, Bruno Mars and The Weekend. They have already shared the stage with Eric Hutchinson, The Voice winner Danielle Bradbery and toured the country extensively. This would be a good new band to come check out so that you can say you knew them when…
The hype and excitement around the PFD dispersion might have dwindled a bit, but the great PFD room deal at The Hotel Alyeska is still available until Dec. 6, with room rates starting at just $109 midweek.
Take the opportunity to enjoy a little peace and quiet after a hectic summer! You’ll have access to the saltwater pool, hot tub and fitness center inside the hotel, or step outside and onto a hike or bike ride (conditions permitting). We all know the holiday season can be stressful, take advantage of a little relaxation while you can.
