Stay Fit: Fun Indoor Opportunities for Kids and Adults

Four Valleys is still the place to turn in the New Year. Not much will change apart from a new you when taking advantage of fun classes such as Whole Foods Cooking and a Glacier Valley Quilters punch card.
Adults, the indoor track will be open during kids’ basketball camps and throughout the week in the evening, where each night is dedicated to sports with anywhere from 1-15 balls. Just bring energy!
Join the Mon. night fast paced indoor soccer games for ages 16 and up. Nets, cones, and balls are provided but wear your non-marking shoes, shin guards, and bring water bottles only. Tue. evening is all for Pickleball and then basketball on Wed. evenings. If morning is your fitness time, Tue. and Thurs. from 6-7 a.m. is for you.
Morning jumpstart circuit training can be the great workout group to maintain your motivation while also having fun. Professional trainer Cam Anderson leads this class with a challenging circuit training boot camp. Workouts will emphasize core and total body strength conditioning while increasing heart rate and improving strength. You choose your intensity level utilizing stations to set your own pace.
Round out your family’s week with soccer on Friday nights. It’s actually called Friday night Youth Night with pick-up soccer. No experience is necessary – just bring shin guards and a water bottle. Soccer for grades 2-3, 4-5, and 6-8 begins at 5, 6, and 7:30 p.m. beginning Jan 12.
Perhaps your house will be calmer after running, drills and scrimmages. Basketball camp for grades 1-2 and 3-5 begins after school on Jan 17. In a couple weeks, Tue. will be full of Kung Fu with Sifu Shayla. Classes start at pre-K through adult on Jan. 23 for 15 weeks with 15 classes.
Nordic skiing and girls basketball are right around the corner. If your family hasn’t already, find some cross country skis now to borrow with the right fit for this year. Learn the sport and fun outdoor games and exploring that can happen on cross country skis. This group will meet Mondays at 4pm beginning Jan 29.
Romp-n-Snore returns on Tue. mornings at 9:30 a.m. at the Girdwood School Gym. The kids (or parents) may have really missed this unparalleled opportunity over the Holiday break.
