In just a few months, Spoonline Market has established its culinary niche in Girdwood. Owner Alexandra Fletcher offers take out menu items that are fresh, creative and easy to microwave at home. Her dinner specials, two different ones each evening, are crafted to appeal to vegetarians or carnivores. There is also a mix of side items and desserts.

Spoonline’s breakfast burritos are popular, and that meal always has a special. She just began serving crepe potatoes and will soon be making croissant sandwiches that are easy to grab and go. A number of guiding outfits order her box lunches to feed clients. Call in an order for a box lunch if you’re going on a trip or a hike. She is also working on vacuum sealing meals to boil and eat on camping and hiking trips.

The afternoon I stopped by, the first special was Cuban chicken and green olive stew served over brown rice or mashed sweet potatoes. The fragrant scent of the stew was a combination of lemons, cumin, smoked paprika and fennel. The second special was a basil risotto topped with parmesan shavings, sautéed green beans and oyster mushrooms.

Spoonline Market’s hours are:
